History of the F1-W01

Mercedes-Benz's W01 represented the company's ambitious return to Formula 1 as a works manufacturer in 2010.

Development of the W01 began in 2009 under technical director Ross Brawn, combining innovative aerodynamics with the revolutionary KERS kinetic energy recovery system.

The W01 debuted at the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14, 2010, immediately establishing Mercedes as a competitive force with strong performances throughout the season.

Production of race-specification W01 chassis concluded at the end of the 2010 season after 19 Grand Prix events.
